Woman Architects & Designers In Bali
Reka Puan
This exhibition, spearheaded by eight women architects in Bali, aims to showcase the
architectural perspective on mitigating environmental harm. Through our works, whether they
represent small or significant steps, we strive to provide exemplary design while simultaneously
minimizing the adverse effects of our designs on the environment. This includes utilizing locally
sourced materials and shaping buildings in ways that reduce reliance on artificial lighting and air
conditioning. Our intention is to educate everyone on the importance of responsibility in
architectural projects. We seek to demonstrate how architects can contribute to reducing
negative environmental impacts while preserving cultural heritage of Bali. Through this exhibition, each of our journeys serves as a testament to overcoming deep-seated
prejudices and establishing our own distinguished niches within the Balinese architectural
community.
