KADIEU, meaning 'to invite' in Sundanese, is a humanitarian project located in Gasol Village, Cianjur Regency, aimed at fostering community engagement through a collaboration between the Undergraduate Architecture Program of Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), the University of Florida (UF), and Rumah Wakaf Salman (RWF). The project emphasizes sustainable construction using bamboo, which is utilized to create a prefabricated reciprocal frame module for the roof, designed to harmonize with the local environment. The shelter features a skyroof formed by a configuration of reciprocal system, and multiple openings to enhance airflow and views of the surrounding landscape. Constructed over a week with the help of local craftsmen and participants from ITB and UF, the project exemplifies community collaboration and provides a gathering space for local residents, including areas for children's play and communal meetings.
